Sands is delighted to announce a new partnership with one of the oldest and most prestigious firms on the London Stock Exchange, Charles Stanley, who are aiming to raise £40,000 to mark our 40th anniversary this year and help ensure we can continue to support anyone affected by the death of a baby.

Charles Stanley staff voted for Sands to be their Charity of the Year after their colleague Linda Humphries nominated us after her grandson Mason was stillborn last year.

Linda said: “At that time we all thought the world had ended, the grief was hard to bear. Helping to arrange the funeral for baby Mason was by far one of the hardest things I have ever done. There are no words for losing a child, during pregnancy, in labour or shortly after and it doesn’t just affect the parents it affects the whole family. As a grandmother I personally felt lost with nowhere to go until I discovered Sands.”

Charles Stanley is one of the leading investment management companies in the UK, dedicated to serving the private investor. In addition they act for many national charities, trusts, professional institutes and major financial institutions. Their principal business remains as it was a century and more ago, the provision of a traditional, high-quality service to the discerning private investor.

Patrick High, Corporate and Trust Fundraising Officer at Sands, said: “Charles Stanley are aiming to raise £40,000 to mark Sands 40th anniversary and ensure Sands can continue to support bereaved families all over the UK.

“Sands is delighted that Charles Stanley employees have voted Sands as their Charity of the Year in 2018 and will join us at an important milestone as we mark our 40th anniversary. Partnerships like this are vital to Sands as we rely on the generosity of our incredible supporters, to enable us to continue to fund our important work and support anyone affected by the death of a baby.”
