“This session will be of great value in providing information as well as support, and in giving line managers the confidence to have the conversations needed. I really like how the session was aimed at both parents and line managers/ colleagues, so that perspectives can be shared.”
Meet the team
Clare’s previous career was in civil engineering as a project manager, however when her daughter was stillborn she was inspired to become a midwife and started her midwifery degree the following year.
Early in her midwifery career, Clare realised her passion for bereavement care and joined the team at Sands, initially as a Trustee and now as the Training and Learning Resources Manager.
At Sands Clare leads the Training and Education team, who provide a wealth of training and tools for various professional groups including healthcare staff, charity volunteers and employees in the public and private sector.
Clare is an advocate for high quality bereavement care and passionate about opening up conversations around baby loss and bereavement. From her personal and professional experience, she knows how difficult it can be to talk about bereavement, especially in the workplace so is dedicated to helping people find the words so that they feel confident when working with the bereaved in any setting.
Vicky has worked in health and medical research organisations for over 10 years, collaborating with partners and organisations to accelerate improvements in access to care and support. Leading on Sands’ partnerships and philanthropy, Vicky and her dedicated team focus on raising awareness and fundraising to transform the baby loss landscape forever.
