Steph, from Hebburn in South Tyneside is set to run the Great North Run on Sunday. Here is her story and why she is running for Sands.

Living in the area of the Great North Run it’s always something I have been in awe of when people have said they have completed the GNR and it’s something I have always wanted to do! Last year I was about to accept a number from Sands but in the week I was about to confirm I wanted the number I found out I was pregnant with our little boy who was born last October.

My husband encouraged me to apply this year and I got a number in the general ballot!! I’m running for Sands in memory of our little girl Daisy who was stillborn just over 6 years ago.
