We may be spending more time indoors right now, but you can still fundraise for Sands, saving babies’ lives and providing vital bereavement support to those facing the hardest of times.

Whether you’re into baking, fitness, socialising or gaming, check out the below for inspiration on how to support Sands from the comfort of your home.

Hold a virtual event

Dinner party – send out email invitations and gather friends and family for a virtual dinner party. Donate to join the party, or pay what you might have if you’d have eaten out.

Movie night – pick a film to watch with friends using the Teleparty Chrome Extension and donate the cost of your cinema tickets. You can still enjoy popcorn and sweets!

Quiz night – gather friends on video call for a quiz. Donate to join, or donate an amount for every question you get wrong! Sign up to host a Sands Quiz

Games night – challenges friends to a tournament over video of your favourite game – poker, chess, cards all work, or even stream a video game. Get your friends to donate to join in.

Use your talents

Host a virtual class – teach friends and family how to do something you’re an expert at! Whether it’s drawing, Pilates, photography, poetry or cooking, get sharing your skills and charge people to join.

Sell your creations – using those same talents just mentioned, start selling your creations for charity. You can post on social media with photos and prices, and watch the money start to fly!

Fundraise at work

Donate your commute – are you currently working from home? Could you donate the savings you have made on your commute or even the cost of your after-work drinks? You’ll be no worse off!

Get sponsored – don’t deny it, your colleagues would love to see you wearing a silly costume. Choose a wacky outfit to liven up your next team meeting!

Take on a challenge

Choose your challenge and ask friends and family to sponsor you to keep it up for a week, month or even year! It could be running 5k, limiting your social media use to 5 mins, walking 10,000 steps or giving up chocolate.

Most in a minute – challenge your friends to a competition of who can do the most sit ups, kick ups or squats in a minute? Make sure they donate to enter and send videos as proof!

Get hair-raising – brave the shave, cut or dye! Go wild with a new hairstyle and get sponsorship for making the change!  Find out more here

My Marathon My Way – want to run a marathon … but at your pace? Find out more here

Spring clean

De-clutter the house and sell anything you no longer need use Facebook Marketplace, eBay or Gumtree. Donate what you make!
