Big Steps for Small Feet

We're taking on the South Downs in 2024

‘Big Steps for Small Feet’ is a chance for charities to unite as one, in togetherness and hope. It's an opportunity to raise awareness and show the world that collectively we can make a difference.

This June we return to trek the incredible coastal trek of South Downs. We are into our forth year, one year after scaling Scafell Pike, two years since climbing Snowdon and three years since we’ve tackled Ben Nevis at night. We hope to give those who need it the chance to walk and talk together, scaling new heights to unite and raise money for charities working to support bereaved families every day.

When your baby dies, your whole world is shattered. You can feel alone and as if no one understands your pain. Bereaved parents, and those who have been affected by baby loss, tell us they feel like they’ve lost a part of themselves and are unsure who to talk to or where to channel their feelings. By taking on South Downs in 2024, you can change this. Join with us for Big Steps for Small Feet and together we can make a difference by raising awareness and funds for one of the following 7 charities: Twins Trust, Anam Casa Fasgadh, Bliss, The Lullaby Trust, Sands, Held In Our Hearts and Tommy's.

"Losing a child is an unimaginable pain. A time where you can feel very alone in a big world. We will walk together and talk together, no mountain too tall. In 2021 we conquered Ben Nevis as one, in 2022 we embarked up Snowdon and in 2023 we scaled Scafell Pike. Unity, togetherness and an unbreakable spirit in the memory of our children. In June 2024 we return once more as a team for our next challenge. Walking the South Downs together for the same goals. We may not be able to stop the downpour, but we will all walk with you in the rain."

- Michael McGuire, Anam Cara Fasgadh
